Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Rate My Paw mobile application (the “App”), operated by Rate My Paw (“we,” “us,” “our”). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your country, e.g., 16 in some EU member states) to use the App. If you are between that minimum age and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the App with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian, to the extent required by local law. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements.
2. Your Account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account and profiles.
- You may not create an account on behalf of someone else without authorization, or maintain more than one account for the purpose of manipulating ratings.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
3. The Service
The App allows users to:
- Create profiles for pets, pet products, and pet services.
- Rate (1–5 stars) and review profiles created by others.
- Browse, search, and interact with public profiles and ratings.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any profile, rating, or review posted by users. Ratings reflect the opinions of individual users, not Rate My Paw.
4. User Content and License
4.1 Your Content
“User Content” means any pet profiles, product/service profiles, ratings, reviews, photos, videos, comments, or other material you submit to the App.
4.2 License Grant
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Rate My Paw a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, use, display, reproduce, modify (e.g., for formatting), distribute, and publish that content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the App.
4.3 Your Responsibilities
You represent that:
- You own or have the necessary rights to the User Content you submit.
- Your User Content does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Your ratings and reviews reflect genuine opinions or experiences and are not paid, coerced, fraudulent, or posted to manipulate rankings
4.4 Removal
We may remove or restrict access to any User Content, at our discretion, that violates these Terms, our Community Guidelines, or applicable law.

You agree not to:
2. Impersonate any person, business, or pet service provider, or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity.
3. Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse other users.
4. Post content depicting animal cruelty, abuse, neglect, or illegal animal trade.
5. Post content that is unlawful, obscene, hateful, or infringing on intellectual property rights.
6. Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access the App or manipulate ratings.
7. Upload malware or attempt to interfere with the App’s operation or security.
8. Use the App to advertise, solicit, or sell products/services outside of designated features.
9. Collect or harvest personal information about other users without consent.
10.Violate any applicable local, national, or international law. Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination, and may be reported to law enforcement where appropriate (see also our Community Guidelines).
6. Ratings and Reviews Integrity
Because the App’s core value depends on trustworthy ratings:
- Business owners and service providers may not rate their own profiles or coordinate fake reviews.
- We may use automated and manual systems to detect and remove suspicious rating activity.
- We reserve the right to adjust, remove, or annotate ratings we reasonably believe to be fraudulent or manipulated.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, logos, trademarks, and underlying software, is owned by Rate My Paw or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the license you grant us in your User Content, these Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property.
8. Third-Party Services and Listings
Pet product and pet service profiles may reference third parties not affiliated with Rate My Paw. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the quality, safety, or legality of any third-party product or service listed or reviewed on the App. Interactions with pet service providers found through the App are solely between you and that provider — see our Safety Tips page.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE. WE DO NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF ANY USER CONTENT, RATING, OR REVIEW.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, [COMPANY NAME] AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF [AMOUNT, e.g., USD 100] OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Rate My Paw from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party right.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, us, or third parties.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Governing Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-oflaw principles, except where mandatory local consumer protection laws provide otherwise. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the App shall be resolved through [binding arbitration in Governing Jurisdiction / the courts of Governing Jurisdiction], except where prohibited by local law (e.g., certain EU consumer protections). If you reside in the EU, you may also access the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the App or email, and update the “Last Updated” date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Miscellaneous
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver.
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines, constitute the entire agreement between you and Rate My Paw regarding the App.
